Terms of Service

last_updated: 2026-05-18T00:00:00Z

Plain English: Workout Agent is a free, open-source service provided as-is. Use it at your own risk, follow the rules below, and we reserve the right to update or shut down the service at any time.

The service

Workout Agent ("the service") is a free, open-source AI strength coach that connects to your Hevy account via your personal Hevy API key. The service is operated as an open-source project, available for self-hosting under its open-source license.

Eligibility

Your responsibilities

AI responses are not professional advice

The AI gives suggestions for workout programming and adjustments. These are not medical, physiotherapy, or professional coaching advice. If you have an injury, an underlying health condition, or are unsure whether an exercise is safe for you, consult a qualified professional. You are responsible for what you do in the gym.

Modifications to your Hevy data

With your Hevy API key, the AI can read and modify your routines and workouts in Hevy. You are responsible for reviewing what the AI does. You can always revert changes in the Hevy app itself, and you can revoke this access at any time by deleting your API key in your Hevy settings.

No guarantees, no SLA

The service is provided "as-is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind. There is no uptime guarantee, no service level agreement, and no commitment to fix bugs or add features. The service may be changed, suspended, or shut down at any time without notice.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither the maintainers nor any contributors are liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service — including but not limited to lost data, lost workouts, injuries, or any consequences of acting on AI suggestions.

Termination

You can stop using the service at any time by deleting your account in the app's settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you abuse the service.

Open source license

The source code is available on GitHub. You are welcome to fork it and host your own instance. The open-source license terms there apply to the code, not to this hosted service.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a meaningful way, you will be asked to re-accept them the next time you sign in. The last-updated date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
